Peru-Spain bilateral trade grew over 50% in 2017

Bilateral trade between Peru and Spain expanded by more than 50% in 2017, a study conducted by EAE Business School has revealed.

According to the report titled “Trade relations between Spain and Latin America in 2017,” Spanish shipments to Peru increased 50.6% last year.

IMF raises Peru 2019 growth forecast to 4.1%

A special International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission —which recently paid a visit to the Inca country— has revised upwards its Peru 2019 GDP growth projection from 4% to 4.1%.

GDP is expected to expand over 4% in 2019, gradually reaching its potential, the delegation’s preliminary report affirmed.

India, Peru to hold next round of free trade agreement talks this week

New Delhi: Senior officials of India and Peru will hold next round of negotiations for a proposed free trade agreement (FTA) in the South American nation this week to boost two-way commerce between the countries.

“Officials from commerce ministry are there in Peru for the second round of negotiations for the pact,” a government official said.

In an FTA, two countries significantly reduce or eliminate duties on most of the goods traded between them besides relaxing norms and rules to promote trade in services and increase bilateral investments.
